We know that one in every nine people on our planet go to bed hungry each night. We know that poor nutrition leads to the deaths of 3.1 million children each year throughout our world.  What if our church could do something to change that? On September 18 at 4 p.m., Highland Hills will make an impact on world hunger by hosting a Stop Hunger Now meal packing event.

All ages of our church, from preschoolers to senior adults, will work together to pack meals that feed people in our world. The meals are shipped throughout the world to support school feeding programs, orphanages, and crisis relief. The Stop Hunger Now organization provides all supplies and instructions; we supply the helping hands. We need you! There are jobs for everyone: scooping ingredients into meal bags, measuring ingredients, filling boxes, and carrying and stacking boxes. What a joy it will be to work together as a church body to follow Jesus’ commandment to care for the least of these.

When is Stop Hunger Now?  Sunday, September 18 from 4:00–6:00 pm

What are the meals?  We will pack meals that combine rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a packet of 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages.

How many meals will we pack?  We will pack 10,152 meals in about two hours. If we have more volunteers we can pack even more, so invite your Sunday school class and friends.

Who can participate in meal-packing?  We need a minimum of 50 volunteers. Senior adults, children, youth, adults, and preschoolers age 4 and older can help. This is an excellent time to invite friends from the community to serve alongside us. Volunteers should register on our website.

How else can I support this?  Donations will help meet our financial goal for these meals.

Please sign up and donate for Stop Hunger Now on our website or in the church office.
