Christmas in the Park 2018 was a great joy for our congregation! Thank you for the generous donations of toys and gifts. Forty HHBC volunteers joined with leaders from the Kings Park Neighborhood Association to offer a “Santa Shop” for our neighbors in the Kings Park area.

Parents shopped for toys at prices from 25 cents to five dollars, and volunteers wrapped each gift. While adults shopped, children made crafts and decorated cookies. A delicious lunch was served. Music filled the room as neighbors and HHBC volunteers sang Christmas tunes on the karaoke machine. The few toys that were leftover continued to bless families in need: extra toys were taken to Bibb County DFCS to be delivered to children in foster care.

Mrs. Hughley, Kings Park leader, shared that the neighbors have responded with overwhelming appreciation for our presence on Saturday. She says, “Thank you for your love and support to Kings Park Community. May God continue to bless and keep all of the Highland Hills family.”

We look forward to continuing to minister with the Kings Park area. Highland Hills is involved in the Neighborhood Institute of Historic Macon, which will provide opportunities for learning and grants. We also plan to support Leadership Mercer, and our intern Elizabeth O’Dell, as they begin an after-school tutoring program at the community center in January. Thanks be to God for calling us to love our neighbors in new ways.
