Camp Create

Camp Create

The theme for this year's Camp Create was Better Together. Not only did our Camp Create children grow in their wisdom about God, but they also learned about service to God and God's world through ministry projects that benefit DayBreak and Kings Park Community Center.

Camp Create concluded Friday, June 7. Our congregation will witness the fruits of camp at our celebration offering on Sunday morning, June 9. During our traditional worship hour, the Camp Create children will be singing, praying, and offering leadership. It will be Pentecost Sunday. It will be a day to feel and experience the movement of God's Spirit among us. Campers, their families, and our volunteers will close out the week with lunch following worship on that morning.

We are recreating Vacation Bible School into an interactive week of Bible study, creative experiences, and tons of fun. It will be new! It will be different! It will be an opportunity for our HHBC children and children from our Macon community to experience the love of God and the joy of friendship.

Camp Create is the name of this week-long experience. It will be held on Monday – Friday, June 3-7 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a Celebration Sunday morning event on June 9. The theme for this year’s camp is Better Together. During this week children will learn about the love and care it takes to be a good neighbor and the joy of working together to share and experience God’s love.

Local artists, teachers, musicians, and chefs will be on our campus to guide our children in hands-on creating. Each day of the week will have a different creative focus consisting of: Hand Lettering and Drawing, Cooking, Science, Painting, and Drama. Each day there will be Bible study, worship, music and games. The week will culminate in a Sunday Celebration that will take place during our morning worship service and be followed by lunch and an art gallery display.

Hop, skip and jump with us down to the creek bank. Kick off your shoes and wade with us in the cool water. Our Children’s Choir will meet you there to share some songs and stories of God’s love and provision as they present their spring musical.

Down By the Creek Bank is a timeless and classic children’s musical written by Dottie Rambo. You will hear some classic songs such as, Ain’t Gonna Let the Mountains Praise the Lord, and Being Me. These are just a few of the toe-tapping tunes that will be presented.

Our Children’s Choir has been working since January to prepare for this musical. Their presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 8 at 6:45 p.m. in our chapel. The performance will be followed by a fellowship in our courtyard. So grab your fishin’ pole and a friend and join us down by the old holler log!

Pancakes with the Pastors

Pancakes with the Pastors

Shrove Tuesday, the last day before the season of Lent, is a day for pancakes. Historically, families needed to use up their stored supplies of flour, butter, eggs, and milk because those supplies wouldn’t be used during the fasting of Lent. Instead of letting them go to waste, the solution was to make pancakes!

Preschoolers, children, youth, and their parents are invited to enjoy Pancakes with the Pastors on Tuesday, March 5, at the home of Cass and Ruth DuCharme, 1640 Rivoli Lane in Macon. Drop in between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for some pancakes and bacon with your friends. The staff will also share a devotional guide for each family to take home to use during the season of Lent.
