65th Anniversary Celebration
You are invited to a special day of worship on April 22 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration lunch in the Great Room that celebrates Highland Hills. 65 years ago, five families heard the call of God and embarked on a journey together, welcoming all who seek to follow Christ to join them along the way. Over the years, each generation has echoed that same call and response to continually create a congregation of believers on a journey with God. Highland Hills has become far more than just a refuge, over the river in Shirley Hills, it has become a vital center of ministry all over Macon.
Rev. Dr. David John Hailey will preach during worship. David John spent his earliest years at Highland Hills, learning his first words of faith. His journey with God led to a life in congregational ministry like his father, Rev. Dr. David J. Hailey, former pastor of Highland Hills. David John holds degrees from Duke Divinity School and Campbell University. He is the pastor of Irving Park Baptist Church and works as Northern Seminary’s Director of Development. His wife Claire is a pediatric resident at Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago.
On this day, we will celebrate our Christ-centered community through worship and fellowship. Over the last 65 years, our family has grown in persons and purpose. Join us as we continue to look and listen to what God is calling us to do and who God is calling us to be. For lunch reservations (no charge), call the church office or visit highlandhillsbaptist.org/anniversary.
