Space for children...

Welcome to the Children’s Ministry of Highland Hills Baptist Church. It is our desire for you to find this church a warm and loving place for your family to grow in faith. Within our congregation we seek to create a sacred space for each member—a space to worship, learn, and serve.

It is our belief that children need a space to explore God’s world, to ask questions, to express their faith, and to feel loved. The Children’s Ministry of Highland Hills seeks to provide this space through Bible study, choirs, missions, and worship experiences. These programs are designed to guide children to grow in their faith and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fellowship and special events are another aspect of our Children’s Ministry. Each year we share in family oriented events such as Fall Family Fest, Trunk or Treat, Elf Workshop, Family Night Christmas Party and Easter Egg Hunt. Each summer our children enjoy extended learning through our annual Children’s Camp and Vacation Bible School.

This page was created to introduce you to the ministry opportunities that are available for children in first through sixth grade. Children are encouraged to participate in any or all of these ministry opportunities. Please feel free to make us aware of any needs or questions that you might have. We look forward to ministering to your family and hope that within this fellowship you will find a warm and open space where you can worship and serve God.

What's Up for Children's Choir

When the calendar turns to January, the children of Highland Hills know that it is time to begin work on their spring musical.  On Wednesday, January 4 at 5:00 p.m. the children in 1-6 grade enjoyed a Musical Premier Party where they will got a glimpse of this year’s musical that will be presented in May.

The musical that has been chosen for this year is a fun and heartwarming version of a Bible story that we all know and love.  It is titled, “What’s Up Zak?” and is the familiar tale of Zacchaeus.  The story is retold as one rich but lonely tax collector casts his ego aside and climbs a tree for just one glimpse of Jesus.  The songs are funny and lively and will provide our Children’s Choir with a great time of musical and biblical learning.  It is a wonderful story for all believers.

The opportunity to participate in this musical is open to all 1-6 graders!  Rehearsals will be held each Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. beginning on January 4.  If your child hasn’t been a participant in children’s choirs in the past, now is great time to get started and join this wonderful group of talented singers.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

If you give a kid a pancake…he might learn something about Lent! Children and older preschoolers are invited to drop in for pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, February 21 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the DuCharme’s home to celebrate the beginning of the Lenten season.

We will enjoy sharing this time together as we eat pancakes and participate in fun, Lenten activities. You can sign up for this event by clicking here or by calling the church office.
