As many of you know, I’m a planner. Just ask the youth and Sanctuary Choir. Even as I write this article, I’m making my final plans for this summer’s worship services, youth trips, and other activities for the church and my family.
As all of you know, life doesn’t slow down at the church during the summer. In fact, in many ways it gets busier. Oh, I know that we’ll be taking a break from our Wednesday night services, but that’s about all that will slow down this summer.
Some of the things I’m planning for include worship on Sundays, youth Bible studies, the Jubilate youth choir tour, the church wide local mission event, the youth Passport mission trip, VBS, and more. All of these plans directly or indirectly involve you. Whether you’re a child, youth, adult, or senior adult, we want you to be a part of the plans.
Plan on being in Sunday School and worship on Sunday mornings when you’re in Macon during the summer.
Plan on attending the Jubilate Concert at FBCX Macon on Sunday evening, June 5, at 6:00 p.m.
Plan on housing some of the youth from the out of town choirs on Sunday night, June 5. (Please let me know if you’d be willing to house some youth.)
Plan on joining the church family at Amerson River Park on Wednesday evening, June 8. (Bring a picnic supper with you.)
Plan on participating in our local Mission Macon event Sunday through Wednesday, June 12-15. (Sign up now.)
Plan on praying for our children, youth, and their leaders as they spend time at Children’s Camp, June 5-8 and Passport Averett, July 2-8.
Plan on coming to, or bringing your children and grandchildren to VBS on July 11-15. (Adults, let Ruth and Carol know where you’d like to serve.)
As I make my plans, I hope that your summer “Macon plans” involve making plans to be a part of all that’s going on at Highland Hills. Speaking of Macon plans, did I mention that Caitlyn is getting married in November? Well, that will have to wait for another article.
