Well, well, well, you all pulled one over on me. One way to surprise someone on their anniversary is to have the party early. Five months early to be exact!
What I thought was going to be the conclusion to a wonderful Jubilate choir tour, turned out to be a very sweet surprise lunch and roasting of yours truly.
As far as the Jubilate tour goes, it was a great tour, with wonderful weather, safe travel, inspirational concerts, receptive listeners and awesome singers! I am so blessed to be called "one" of the directors of this great experience. We really do plan it for the students but the directors get so much out of it too. Year after year, the students impress me so much with their love for the Lord, for the music, for each other, and for the experience we call Jubilate! To all of the chaperones and drivers who travel with us, thank you for giving of your time to help us each year. We truly couldn't do it with out you. To Stanley, Mark, James, Robert and Kadar, I feel so privileged to get to work with you on this endeavor twice every year. You all continue to bless me with your musicianship, friendship, and love. Thanks, too, for the undeserved, kind words you shared on Sunday.
To the congregation and staff of our great church, thank you for celebrating this milestone with me in such a sweet way. Thank you for the time you took to plan, set up, decorate, serve, and write the inspirational notes to me. I treasure each of you and all you’ve done for me, not just Sunday, but for the past 25 years. I’d like to make a special shout out to Laura Ann and ALL of her crew who fed the choir on Saturday night then turned around and fed us all on Sunday! Everything was delicious, but those desserts were spectacular. She amazes me with her cooking prowess.
Well, you got me. I hope you’re happy. I know I am. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been together for 25 years. It’s also hard to believe that not one of you let me in on the secret.
