This quote from Anne Lamott really captures what we've been up to on this first week of summer.
“When hope is not pinned wriggling onto a shiny image or expectation, it sometimes floats forth and opens like one of those fluted Japanese blossoms, flimsy and spastic, bright and warm. This almost always seems to happen in community.” - Anne Lamott
“Terrific Tuesdays” began this week. Our members and a few friends partnered with the Kings Park Neighborhood Association to provide programming for kids in Kings Park. We welcomed several children from the neighborhood and expect this ministry to grow week by week.
Our youth leave this week for the summer Jubilate tour. This Wednesday we will head across this river to hear their home concert.
As you make your summer plans, don't forget to join in for these communal experiences. They aren't the same without you.
