9:45 a.m. Sunday School (classes for infants through 5K)

11:00 a.m. Extended Session (4K and 5K classes attend worship service until the Children's Sermon. After the Children's Sermon they return to their classroom for a time of Bible learning.)

Wednesdays            

5:00 p.m. Preschool Choir for 3K, 4K and 5K Classes

5:50 p.m. Family Night Supper

6:20 p.m. Mission Friends for 3K, 4K, and 5K classes
Childcare for younger preschoolers

6:30 p.m. Prayer Service for adults

At Highland Hills, we think preschoolers are pretty cool people! When families bring their preschoolers to our church, we want them to find a space that is inviting and people who welcome their children with open arms. Our ministry goal is to nurture and love preschoolers and their families during these special and important years.

Preschoolers learn about God’s love through the love and care provided by the adults around them. As we love and care for our preschoolers, we also provide many opportunities for children to learn about God’s love, including Sunday School, Extended Session, Preschool Choir and Mission Friends. In addition to these weekly activities, special events for preschoolers are held throughout the year, which create an atmosphere of fun and learning with friends. Some of these activities include summer fun days, field trips, an annual Easter Egg Hunt, our weeklong Vacation Bible School each summer, and an Elf Workshop held each December.

Highland Hills considers each child a wonderful and unique gift from God. We count it a blessing to be able to care for them and teach them as they grow in their faith.

Lenten Guides for Children

Lenten Guides, complete with stickers, are available for our preschoolers and children. The guides, titled, "Footsteps to the Cross," encourage children to follow in Jesus' footsteps and be his disciples. Each day between Ash Wednesday and Easter provides a short devotional reading and a prayer. In addition, children can add a footstep sticker to the Lenten journey display that is provided with the guide.

Children can pick up the Lenten guides and footsteps display poster on the table in the children's area.

Preschoolers and Palm Sunday

The children of HHBC will usher in our Holy Week observances with the procession of palms on Palm Sunday. The 4k & 5k preschoolers will join the 1 – 6 grade choir in processing the palms. The 1 – 6 grade choir will also sing a traditional Palm Sunday anthem.

Celebrating New Life at Easter

 

On Saturday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m., the Highland Hills courtyard will be filled with children, Easter eggs, and bunnies as we celebrate the new life of Easter at our annual Easter Egg Hunt. In addition to the traditional things – iced cookies, eggs, and songs – this year there will also be an abundance of baby bunnies. As the children pet and hold the bunnies, we will be reminded of the gift of new life that is ours through Christ.

Plan to bring your children and grandchildren to search for eggs and enjoy a beautiful spring celebration of new life.
