An exciting journey in learning and doing ministry began for 10 people on Thursday, January 24. These Stephen Minister trainees have begun studying, discussing, experiencing and trying out the skills involved in sharing God’s love and compassion with those who especially need these gifts.
This past week, we studied Module #1, The Person of the Caregiver. We learned about the Caregiver’s Compass, which defines the character of a caregiver and guides their learning and caring. The five foundational characteristics of the caregiver are: being Christ-centered, compassionate, full of faith, skilled and trustworthy. In the days ahead, look out for the Caretaker’s Compass displayed throughout the church.
Let us thank God for these ministers and ask his continued help and blessing during their journey.
Recognizing that God is the ultimate Cure Giver, the Mission of the Highland Hills Baptist Church Stephen Ministry is to serve God and bring Christ’s healing love to individuals who are experiencing life’s challenges through confidential, non-judgmental, one-on-one Christian care.
