Lettering with Lifespring. Our ongoing partnership with residents of Lifespring residential treatment center continues. Our Micah Project for September is a fellowship event—an evening of hand lettering with the women in this center on Friday, September 20, at 6:30 pm. Volunteers are needed. Please see Rachel Huston or Erin Hawkins to volunteer.
Food Access Program—Training. Our Micah Project for Feeding has led us to connect with people in our community who are creating a Food Access Transportation Program. This program will launch this Fall. Would you like to volunteer to transport senior adults (from nearby neighborhoods) to the grocery store to get what they need? Come and learn more about the Food Access Program. Training to volunteer will be held at HHBC on Saturday, September 14, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Volunteers must pass background checks, have car insurance, and attend this training session. Come and learn how we can help our neighbors have the food access they need. See Emily Brumley for more information.
Missions in Greece. We give thanks for the work of our missions partners around the world. One way that HHBC participated in missions this summer was supporting Mercer on Mission Greece. Scott Nash and Paul Lewis worked alongside Mercer on Mission to help these Romani neighbors. We were able to help Romani Hope build an office and community center in the Roma community in Zevgolatio, Greece.
