Missions Fair Words of Gratitude

At the Mission Fair last Sunday, about 80 participants strolled from room to room, learning about the ministries HHBC supports locally and globally, receiving physical as well as spiritual sustenance and enjoying fellowship. Everyone there had a great time.

Many thanks to all who made the Progressive Lunch & Learn Mission Fair a success.

  • Cameron Schroeder, church secretary, formatted all the Mission and Outreach brochures and Prayers Cards. She and Carol Brown developed the poster that was used to promote the event. Hope you’ve recovered from cutting all those Prayer Cards – a mammoth job.

  • Carol Brown helped with the communications to promote the event. Carol was also our official photographer, and memories of the Mission Fair will soon be posted on the Missions and Outreach bulletin board. Thanks for all your help, Carol.

  • The following members of the Hospitality Committee worked extremely hard for two days to provide the delicious progressive lunch: Anne Heath, Jean Keene, Linda and John Jarrard, Susan and Girard Jones, Linda and Mike Fuller, Gloria and Buddy Marshall and Gene Cook. Hope you’ve recovered – you did a fantastic job.

  • Jeff Browne provided technical assistance for all the videos. I surely could not have done it without Jeff’s expertise. (And he even fixed the volume on my computer – thanks!)

We had representation from 20 global, state, local, and church agencies and ministries Sunday.

  • All our global partners provided videos to help us better understand the work they are doing in other parts of the world to bring Christ to far-flung lands while improving the quality of life of people there. The videos were invaluable. Thanks to Missy and Francis Angalla in Uganda, Laura and Carson Foushee in Japan, Dianne and Shane McNary in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, Romani Hope in Greece and Jubilee Partners in Comer, Georgia. Thanks, too, to members who represented these ministries we support: Renee Bennett, Gene Cook, Dianne and Chris Fuller, Marsha and Paul Lewis, and Scott Nash.

  • Thanks to the local agencies and ministries who were represented: Brookdale Resource Center, Daybreak, Loaves and Fishes, Macon Periods Easier, MLK Jr Elementary School, Mercer Center for Engaged Learning, and the Salvation Army. Vendors from these agencies expressed how impressed they were with what HHBC does to support the local community, and some recruited volunteers.

  • The Boy Scouts provided a large contingency of Scouts and Leaders and enlivened the event. It was great having children and youth in our church again! Thanks for all that Boy Scout Troop #170 and Cub Pack #270 do to support HHBC.

  • Church ministries represented included our Stephen Ministry, Pastoral Care Team, Global Women, and HHBC@Home. We are here to serve you.

  • Thanks to Jodi Long with CBFGA who asked to be included. His presence provided our members information about the work CBF does everywhere. Thanks, too, Jodi, for publicizing our event.
