Deacon Update

HHBC Deacons welcomed a new member and elected a new officer at their August 11 meeting.

In July Dianne Fuller resigned as deacon to join her husband Chris in his new ministry as a local pastor. She was also serving as Vice Chair of Deacons, which includes service as Chair of the Nominating Committee.

As per our by-laws, we called on an alternate from the most recent election to fill that vacancy, and welcomed Patricia Netherton to the deacon body. She now fills the unexpired term ending in December 2020. We will schedule an ordination service for her this fall. We also elected Larry Brumley to fill the Vice Chair position for the rest of 2019. We appreciate their willingness to serve in these new roles.
