Worship in the Great Room
Worship in the Great Room this July has been a grand experiment of finding new ways to encounter God. It has been a truly fun way to worship this summer with big changes like different types of hymns and new ways to encounter one another. A favorite for me has been how we have had to sit near one another--I love how people who have worshiped together for quite some time are getting to know each other because there are fewer spaces to spread out. Vibrant Stained Glass
In Paris, among the many historical sights and sounds, sits a little chapel, Saint Chapelle. Like most European chapels, the bottom floor you enter into is beautiful, but not entirely memorable. But a hike up a spiral staircase, and if you're anything like me, it's not just the climb that takes away your breath. Wildly Wonderful
Have you ever spent much time looking at scat? I would much rather not. That’s the sort of thing I would rather avoid, nevertheless considering what it might teach us. Today though, our wildly wonderful children bravely looked at things I would rather ignore. During our summer camp this morning, at one station they spent time looking at pictures of scat. Our fearless leaders taught them about the different things you might find in scat- and how that shows what the animal had been eating....
